After disconnecting my system because of subscription on 28-12-2010, by 01-01-2011, my screen began to display E06-4 that my smart card is either faulty or turned upside down. I have made payment since 05-01-2011, till now same message is still displayed. Does it mean that when one fails to subscribe this is what happens, even when the decoder or smart card have not been tampered with? Please kindly do something about this in good time. Meanwhile, the boots very well during the scanning process only to display this message instead of the channels. My card no is 4129188960(2)

Asaba this is not normal it is a fault. You can pack-up your DSTV for months and still be able to use it at anytime once you pay your subscription. From the problem it is obvious that the DSTV decoder is not reading your DSTV smart-card. It could be that the contacts are dirty. Remove the smart card clean it up and insert it right back, ensuring that the chip is downwards and the arrow facing the DSTV decoder. The reboot. If it persists contact a DSTV accredited dealer. DO NOT TAKE IT TO ANY ELECTRONIC REPAIRER!

Yes, you can switch from one package to another. Just pay for the new package. Also tell the DSTV rep that you are going for a package different from your previous package.

I bought a DStv last week and i subscribed for the premium (N9,500), does that mean i will not have to pay the monthly cost for the next three months? cos you wrote "Prices quoted above include standard decoder, dish, 3 months subscription, and installation."

When i bought it, they told me they can install it for me but it will cost me around N1,000.

ZeeTV is in a seperate bouquet, visit a Multichoice office and ask for the bouquet including ZeeTV. You may be required to pay more.

For the guy that bought DSTV last week: It depends on how-much you paid, if you paid just around N9,000 for the decoder and dish and paid the N9,500 separately for the package, then what you paid for is for one month. However, if you paid something close to what we quoted in the article above (N39,900) in one bulk payment, then it is for 3 months.

Send a text message to 30333. The message should be in the following format: RA[space]first ten digits of your decoder smart card. eg. if your decoder smart card number is 1234 5678 912, text RA 1234567891 to 30333.

I will like an extra view. I already have DSTV installed but it is only single view. I want to get an extra view so that i can watch DSTV in another room and also change channels. I was told to buy another decoder, please, do you know how much it costs(just the decoder without the dish)? and if i need to buy a card (how much) or just one card will serve the purpose? And finally how much do you thing the overall cost should be? Tanx

Yes you require a decoder if you want the two TVs to be able to show two different channels. The price depends on the type of decoder, the DSTV standard decoder should be less than N10,000. There is also an extra view charge, which am not sure how much (but I think it is not up to N2,000). Visit a Multichoice office.
