Touch and Type Phones Prices Specs QWERTY keyboard

Touch and Type phones are mobile phones that combine a Touch screen and a standard or QWERTY keypad. So, you get the best of both worlds; a touch screen with its speed and ease of use especially when selecting menu options and QWERTY keyboard for fast one hand typing. Most Touch and Type phones come in compact designs easily fitting in one hand making one-thumb typing easy and fast whether on the keypad or touch screen. Although most Touch and Type phones come with QWERTY keyboards, some manufacturers, notably Nokia, has managed to offer standard 12-key keypads on some entry-level Touch and Type phones models.

Nokia E6

Nokia E6 is the latest addition to the Nokia E-Series family of smart phones. It is positioned as a worthy successor for the hugely popular Nokia E71 and E72. This Touch and Type phone features a 2.46-inch capacitive touch screen with a full QWERTY keyboard which makes one-hand typing of messages and status updates easy and fast. Nokia E6 comes with an updated version of the Symbian^3 OS, called the Symbian Anna. It also features integrated mobile office, 8 megapixel camera with HD 720p video recording and dual-LED flash, Social Networking integration, long lasting batteries, Wi-Fi, etc. Nokia E6 is currently available in Nigeria. BlackBerry Torch 9800

BlackBerry Torch 9800 is the first BlackBerry Touch screen Smartphone to offer a physical BlackBerry 35-key QWERTY keyboard. Two yet to be released Blackberry phones (BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 and 9930) will also come with Touch and Type feature. It is a slide phone. The QWERTY keyboard can be slide-out when needed. BlackBerry Torch 9800 features a 3.2-inch Touch screen as well as Wi-Fi b/g/n, high speed internet, GPS navigation, Blackberry maps, and Blackberry 6. Prices of the BB Torch ranges from N88,000 to N92,000 depending on the retailer and the colour.

HTC ChaCha

HTC ChaCha is one of two Facebook phones released by HTC. The two phones are called Facebook phones because they offer a dedicated Facebook button offering users one-click access to the world’s most popular social networking site. HTC ChaCha comes in a sweet design and features a 2.6-inch touch screen with a full QWERTY keyboard. Other features of this Android based phone are 5 Megapixels camera with LED Flash, Android 2.4, GPS Navigation, etc. HTC ChaCha is currently available at a price of N50,000.

Nokia C3 Touch and Type (C3-01)

Nokia C3 Touch and Type

Nokia C3 Touch and Type was the third Touch and Type phone launched by Nokia, the first and second being Nokia X5 Touch and Type (X5-01) and X3 Touch and Type (X3-02). Although it is based on the Series 40 platform, the Nokia C3 Touch and Type features 3G up to HSDPA and Wi-Fi, a rare occurrence for Series 40 phones. It combines a 2.4-inch display with a standard 12-key keypad. Nokia C3 Touch and Type also features a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, Facebook/Twitter integration, Stereo FM radio with RDS, etc. Nokia C3 Touch and Type is currently available. Price N25,000.
