HTC One M8s Specs & Price

Best Jumia Tech Week Deals

Although it already has a couple of successor flagship devices, One M8 has been refreshed in the new HTC One M8s. The major difference between the HTC One M8s and the original M8 is that HTC has dropped the UltraPixel camera and in its place a more generous 13 megapixels camera. HTC One M8s now offers a 64-bit chip.

Build and Display

The design of the HTC One M8s is much like the original device, sporting a brushed aluminium unibody. However, the 9.55mm-thick smartphone comes in a little thicker than its predecessor as a result of a somewhat larger battery.

It also features a 5-inch IPS LCD display with full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, similar to that of the more expensive HTC One M9. The bright multi-touch screen has a pixel density of 441 pixels per density.

Camera and Storage

HTC ditched UltraPixel rear camera with the One M9 and it has decided to keep things that way with the One M8s. The recently-unveiled smartphone packs a 13-megapixel rear shooter with Dual LED and F2.0 aperture size.

Featuring autofocus, manual focus and digital image stabilization, the camera has different settings and modes, including ISO control, exposure compensation, High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Panorama, to help users capture quality images.

There is also a 5-megapixel camera on the front of the device for selfie lovers. HTC One M8s features 16GB built-in storage, expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.

Hardware and Software

HTC One M8s is equipped with a more powerful processor. While the original One M8 uses a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 615 chip running at 1.7GHz. The 64-bit processor is backed by an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics and ample RAM of 2GB.

HTC One M8s runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system from factory, which is good enough. The only disappointment is that the OS is overlaid with a rather obsolete Sense 6 UI.

In terms of battery, HTC One M8s will carry a non-removable battery with a larger capacity of 2840 mAh. The smartphone, which has several connectivity options and other useful features, is expected to retail for $500, significantly less than the price of the original HTC One M8 at launch.

Pricing & Availability

HTC One M8s is not yet available in Nigeria. We have no information on pricing and availability for Nigeria. HTC One M8s Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N95,000 to N120,000 at launch.
