BlackBerry Torch 9810

BlackBerry Torch 9810 features RIM’s latest operating system, the BlackBerry 7 OS with improved hardware, promising improved performance with a great multimedia experience.

A Touchscreen with a slide-down keyboard

Like its predecessors, BlackBerry Touch 9810 combines a 3.2-inch touchscreen with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the same 35-key trademark QWERTY keyboard available on most BlackBerry phones. However, Blackberry Torch 9810 has a 3.2-inch Touchscreen offering a 640 x 480 (VGA) resolution, much better than the half VGA (480 x 320 pixels) on BB Torch 9800.

Like the new all-touch BB phones, Torch 9860/9860, BlackBerry Torch 9810’s display offers 253 DPI (dots per inch), offering a sharp and crisp viewing experience. BB Torch 9810 also features a Touch-sensitive optical trackpad.

BlackBerry 7 OS on solid hardware

BlackBerry Torch 9810 feature the new BlackBerry 7 OS with its Liquid Graphics that promises a faster performance and improved user experience. BB 7 OS offers ease of use, fast performance, and a great multimedia experience.

BlackBerry 7 OS adds some interesting features to BlackBerry phones like improved universal search with voice enabled search, support for 720p HD video recording, and support for augmented reality apps. It also supports Near Field Communication (NFC) a technology that enables easy payments, ID, and authentication using your phone as well as makes sharing contents between compatible devices easy and fast.

BlackBerry 7 OS will also offer a great browser with a smooth and responsive performance as well as support for HTML5 video. BlackBerry Torch 9810 comes with BB Messenger 6 the latest version of RIM’s popular instant messaging service. It features Docs To Go Premium, which enables you create, view and edit Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word documents on your phone.

Like all BlackBerry 7 OS phones announced so far, BlackBerry Torch 9810 will feature a powerful 1.2GHz processor and 768MB RAM, which will offer fast performance and improved user experience and the power to drive BB 7 OS and future BlackBerry OS releases. It also comes with a separate Graphics Processing Unit for great multimedia performance.

A HD 5MP Camera

Blackberry Torch 9810 features a 5 megapixels camera. This on the face value will look similar to the camera on Torch 9800, however the 5 megapixel camera on BB Torch 9810 is more sensitive offering up to 720p HD video recording, much better than the VGA camera in its predessessor.

The camera also boasts of new features like face detection, zero shutter lag, geo-tagging, and 4X digital zoom. Of course you still get continuous autofocus, image stabilisation, and LED flash.

Data and Network support

Blackberry Torch 9810 is a tri-band 3G phone with quad-band GSM support. It supports high-speed 3G data services on UMTS up to HSPA+ speed. GPRS and EDGE are available on GSM networks. It accesses wireless LAN networks with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support, including Wi-Fi access to Blackberry Enterprise and Internet Servers.
