Inside Lumia 510

Nokia Lumia 510 features an 800MHz processor and a separate graphics processor with 256MB RAM. A modest spec you would say, but Windows Phone has proven itself to be resource efficient and early reviews of the device have shown it to be smooth. Nokia Lumia 510 will come with Windows Phone 7.5, but will be upgradable to Windows Phone 7.8. It will not support Windows Phone 8.

Lumia 510 will pack Nokia apps like the Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps with free voice based navigation as well as Nokia Music. Microsoft will also be offering some of its productivity apps plus 7GB free SkyDrive storage.

Display & Camera

Nokia Lumia 510 comes with a 4.0-inch display, making it Nokia’s budget smartphone with the largest display. The display offers WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels, 233ppi). In the camera department, Lumia 510 has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, face detection, geotagging, and video stabilisation. The camera can also record VGA video.

Network and Data

Nokia Lumia 510 is a 3G phone with support for quad-band GSM and dual-band UMTS. It supports data downloads up to 7.2mbps on 3G networks with GPRS/EDGE available on GSM networks. Nokia Lumia 510 also supports WLAN on Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n.

Lumia 510 is not perfect

Nokia Lumia 510 is not perfect, but no gadget is. It only comes with 4GB storage and out of this only 2.2GB is available to the user. Although Microsoft is offering 7GB free SkyDrive storage, this may not be the most ideal for a low cost device in a country where people pay a lot compared to their income for internet access.

However, having said that 2.2GB could be more than enough for some users. Hence, considering the price, there is a decent market for Nokia Lumia 510 in Nigeria.

Price & Availability

Nokia Lumia 510 is currently available in Nigeria. The price currently ranges from N25,000 to N28,000 in Nigeria. You can buy Nokia Lumia 510 at leading phone stores as well as online stores in Nigeria like Jumia
