So far, Whatsapp is yet to come to the Nokia Asha 501 despite making it to most of the other Nokia Asha phones. But with Whatsapp support on the upcoming Nokia Asha 500, Asha 502, and Asha 503, Nokia says it will be pushing an update soon that will enable WhatsApp support on the Nokia Asha 501.

In addition all new Nokia Asha 501 shipped from the factory will come with the new update. However, this does not mean that the Asha 501 you buy in the store today or tomorrow or even next week will come with Whatsapp support. Only the ones still at Nokia’s factories as at yesterday (October 22) will ship with the new software.
So, if you buy a Nokia Asha 501 today or in the next couple of weeks, you will still need to install the new software update before you can install Whatsapp. For now it is not known exactly when the update will be available, but a few online sources claim Nokia could be pushing the new update by next month.
