HP Pro Slate 8 is a quality Android tablet targeted at business users and professionals who desire ability to work seamlessly and more efficiently. Design and Display
The appearance of the HP Pro Slate 8 is not like that of your average business tablet. It looks just too elegant for what some people would expect corporate devices to look like.
The slate flaunts a chic metal body. In spite of the use of metal in its construction, the HP Pro Slate 8 weighs in at only 350 grams. It sports an amazing 7.9-inch diagonal display with a full HD, ultra-high resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels – comparable to the Retina Display on the Apple iPads.
The display is overlaid with rugged and damage-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. A 4:3 aspect ratio makes for easy reading on the device.
Specifications
Designed for decent performance, the HP Pro Slate 8 packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, with the four cores running at 2.3GHz. RAM of 2GB is provided on the tablet, which runs on stock Android 4.4 (KitKat) operating system.
Integrated storage space is 16GB. A 21WHr battery is supplied on the slate, with this supposedly able to last about 13 hours. There is an 8-megapixel camera on the rear of the tablet and another 2-megapixel shooter on the front – both with full HD video recording capability.
Other Features
One significant feature on HP Pro Slate 8 is the HP Duet Pen, an ultrasound stylus. The movement of the high-fidelity pen is picked up by microphones positioned on the slate.
The microphones are so sensitive that they can pick up the stylus even when it is just over the display without touching it. The HP Notes application and this amazing pen make digitisation of notes and drawings from a notepad to the tablet seamless.
The HP Pro Slate 8 supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC supporting Android Beam and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. Security is enhanced with built-in 256-bit device authentication as well as Secure Boot.
