Design and Display
Being a device aimed at the budget end of the market, it is not surprising to see that the Acer Liquid Zest has a plastic body. It is, however, made to look elegant with a brushed metal finish.
The phone has a curvy touch to it making for comfortable handling. It rocks a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels.
The sharpness of the screen is enhanced by Zero Air Gap technology – also used on the awesome Acer Liquid Jade 2 – which makes for comfy reading when using the phone under sunlight.
It also has Acer BluelightShield which enables you control the extent of blue light emitted.
The Cameras
A combo of 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel selfie camera on the Acer Liquid Zest indicates capability to serve up some great images. The primary shooter has an f/2.0 aperture size and LED flash.
You can use it to shoot Full HD (1080p) videos at 30 frames per second. The front-facing snapper delivers 85-degree wide angle selfies.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, this device carries a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, which runs along at speeds of up to 1.3 GHz. It is given extra muscles to perform by 1.5 GB of RAM.
The Liquid Zest will supposedly come with abundant 32 GB of RAM, expandable with a microSD card. Impressively, it will boot Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS from the factory.
Miscellaneous Specifications
The phone is engineered to pump out decent sound with DTS Sound Studio. Gamers were put in mind when making the Acer Liquid Zest as it comes with Acer GameZone pre-installed.
