Samsung and LG showed off prototypes of their Bendable or Flexible 4K TVs at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. The two prototypes come with a mechanism that enables you switch between a Curved TV display and a Flat screen TV with a touch of a button on the remote.
Both TVs offer Ultra HD (4K resolution) with Samsung’s prototype offering an 85-inch screen and LG’s prototype featuring a 77-inch OLED display. Although both TVs works essentially the same the two companies are marketing them differently. While Samsung calls its prototype an 85-inch Bendable TV, LG’s marketing says 77-inch 4K Flexible OLED TV.
The Bendable TVs essentially allows you bend the screen to your liking using the remote for a more immersive viewing experience. It could be great for consumers who are yet to decide on their preference between a Curved TV and a Flat Screen TV. A Bendable or Flexible TV gives you the best of both worlds.
Samsung and LG are yet to reveal any pricing or availability information for these bendable TV prototypes.
