Lenovo Vibe X2 Specs & Price

Lenovo Vibe X2 is a refresh of the Vibe X. It comes with refresh in both hardware and software. Lenovo Vibe X2 comes with Android 4.4 (KitKat), promises improved performance with an octa-core processor, and offers dual-SIM as an option.

The Display

Lenovo VIBE X2 features a 5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution 1080 x 1920 pixels. The device’s 5-inch display is the sweetspot for consumers who do not want an over-sized smartphone, and the Vibe X2’s screen is pretty good for watching movies and browsing the web.

Processor and Memory

The Lenovo VIBE X2 is powered by a 2GHz, MediaTek True8Core octa-core processor that combines a 2GHz octa-core processor for highly intensive tasks and a 1.7GHz quad-core processor for low-intensive tasks. Yes, we’re looking at an octa-core device here that can utilize four cores at once for your web browsing, downloading, and other mobile needs (games, apps, etc.).

Lenovo VIBE X2 also comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The 2GB of RAM is sufficient for an octa-core device, and should offers a smooth performance for gaming and other intensive apps.

32GB of built-in storage is the acceptable amount of storage nowadays, and Lenovo should be commended for placing this amount into the VIBE X2. It would be nice if all manufacturers could get this hint and supply local storage so that you can download more apps and games onto the phone.

However, Lenovo Vibe is does not come with a memory card slot, which means you cannot increase the built-in storage.

The Cameras

Lenovo VIBE X2 has two stellar cameras to enhance what is already a superb experience: a 5 megapixels front camera and a 13 megapixels rear camera, which is about the same as the Vibe X.

The 13MP back camera places the VIBE X2 in a category that features smartphones such as the LG G3 and Nexus 6, but still falls short of the 16MP cameras of the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4, and the 20MP cameras of the Nokia’s Lumia 930, Sony Xperia Z3 and Motorola Moto Maxx.

The 5 megapixels front camera is indicative of just how much “selfies” (self-portraits) and “wefies” (like selfie, but with more than one person) are growing in popularity. The Oxford English Dictionary just added the word “selfie” to the dictionary last year, and it is becoming a hit with young people.
