It may be safe to say that the HP Stream 14 represents an attempt by its maker to compete with the affordable and popular Chromebook by Google. This slim notebook with an AMD processor is designed to be very easy to use. It combines elements of both cloud-based services and Windows 8 advantage.
Design and Display
This budget-friendly Windows-based Notebook is designed for mobile use, looking at its weight of just 1.6 kilograms and its slim 17.8 millimetres. The chassis of the HP Stream 14 is made of both plastic and aluminium.
The HP Stream 14 notebook is fitted with a chiclet keyboard. The 14-inch display is a simple TN panel with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The glossy screen has 16:9 aspect ratio. Outdoor use appears not to be part of the plan for the laptop.
HP Stream 14 is intended for office use and basic computational tasks. This conclusion is based on the fact that it uses an AMD A4 APU, which is mostly found on tablet devices. The quad-core processor of the APU runs at a speed of 1GHz.

HP Stream 14 is provided with a 32Wh Li-Ion battery that can give more than five hours of use, based on tests carried out on it. Stereo speakers can be found on the underside of the notebook, with sound quality enhanced by the preinstalled Beats Audio software.
The computer comes with HD webcam as well as interfaces such as three USB ports (2.0 and 3.0), HDMI and card reader. For networking, Bluetooth 4.0 and wireless capability are guaranteed.
