The Design

HP ZBook 14 is a highly mobile machine and you can easily tell from its look. The laptop comes in at a thickness of just 0.83 inches (21 mm). It’s not just about slimness, though; HP ZBook 14 is equally lighter than many other workstations on the market at a weight of less than 4 pounds (1.8 kg).

The lid of the ultrabook is finished in gray brushed aluminium, accentuated by black soft touch paint. The underside of the HP ZBook 14 laptop features black magnesium.

One unique feature on the base is what is called the “Easy Access Door.” You can easily gain access to internal components such as hard drive, RAM and 4G mobile broadband module without needing to undo any screw.

An Amazing Display

The display of the HP ZBook 14 is one of its bright sides. The 14-inch matte screen, which uses LED backlight technology, has a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Considering its anti-glare capability, the Active Matrix TFT panel of this workstation is perfect for outdoor work. The brightness and colour rendering of the HP ZBook 14 is equally noteworthy. The screen can be upgraded with 10 point multi-touch capability.

Performance and Miscellaneous Specifications

HP ZBook 14 is equipped with a 5th generation processor. Users have a choice to make between dual-core Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors. Graphics is handled by built-in Intel HD Graphics 4400 and discrete AMD FirePro M 4100 graphics processors.

Standard memory is 8GB of RAM and this is upgradeable up to 16GB. The HP ZBook 14 ultrabook runs on Windows 8.1 operating system with an option of installing Windows 7 Professional.

HP ZBook 14 mobile workstation comes with a removable Lithium-Polymer battery with a capacity of 50 WHr and which lasts up to six hours. It offers solid state drive with 128 GB or 256GB capacity or hard drives with capacity ranging from 500GB to 1TB.

HP ZBook 14 has four USB 3.0 ports; VGA and Kensington lock port, amongst other interfaces. It supports several monitors through the DisplayPort feature.
