The recently-unveiled Xperia Z3+ (marketed as Xperia Z4 in Japan) is Sony’s new flagship smartphone for 2015. The phone, which comes with slight changes to last year’s Xperia Z3, sports a slim profile and features an impressive display, ample RAM, a very robust processor and 4G connectivity support.
Design and Screen
Sony Xperia Z3+ shows off the same pleasant OmniBalance design as the Xperia Z3. Featuring a chassis made of glass and aluminium, the smartphone sports a striking svelte look at a thickness of only 6.9 millimetres and weighs less than 145 grams.
The dust and water-resistant quality of the Z series is also preserved in this one. Sony Xperia Z3+ packs a 5.2-inch IPS display with Full-HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and pixel density of 424 pixels per inch.
Camera and Storage
With a 20.7-megapixel main camera, the new Sony Xperia Z3+ is designed to deliver top quality images and videos. The snapper with LED flash features CMOS image sensor, smile detection, autofocus and digital image stabilization, amongst other features, and has Full-HD (1080p) video recording capability.
On the front is provided a 5.1-megapixel camera for quality selfies and great video calling. Integrated storage is 32 GB, with about 23 GB available to the user. If you are not satisfied with storage provided, up to 128 GB can be added via the microSD slot.
Power and Performance
Sony Xperia Z3+ smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, with its ARM cores running at speeds of up to 2GHz. The 64-bit mobile processor is supported by RAM of 3GB. Graphics is crunched by an Adreno 430 graphics processor. The phone runs on the Android 5.0 operating system. Juice is supplied for the device by a 2930mAh battery.
Sony Xperia Z3+, which supports 4G connectivity, will reportedly be available outside Japan as the Sony Xperia Z3+. Available colour options are black, white, aqua green and copper.
Pricing and availability
Sony Xperia Z3+ is not yet available in Nigeria and will be marketed as the Xperia Z4 in Japan. We currently have no data on pricing and availability for Nigeria. When available, Sony Xperia Z3+ Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N120,000 to N200,000, depending on your location.
