Sony Xperia XA Ultra

Design and Display

The Xperia XA Ultra is an elegant handset – just what you’d expect from Sony. It has a metal frame to ensure impressive level of durability. This one is a behemoth at 6 inches.

Sony Xperia XA Ultra is only outdone in size by just a handful of other handsets, including the new 6.44-inch Xiaomi Mi Max.

The phablet is fitted with an edge-to-edge display having a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. A pixel density of about 367 ppi makes for sharp images and immersive viewing.

Camera

Described as a phone for ‘perfect nighttime selfie,’ the Sony Xperia XA Ultra is certainly a dazzler for selfie enthusiasts.

Sony Xperia XA Ultra parades an amazing 16-megapixel front-facing camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a feature mostly seen on the main shooter of high-end phones. It uses low-light sensor and LED flash for great shots in dimly-lit settings.

The selfie shooter has a feature that lets you start the shutter timer for a shot by merely making a gesture. This handset clearly outdoes the HTC Desire Eye unveiled sometime ago. The rear camera is no less impressive at 21.5 megapixels and comes with hybrid autofocus.

Hardware and Software

Decked out with an octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10, the Sony Xperia XA Ultra should deliver solid performance. This is further assured with the provision of 3GB RAM.

Inbuilt storage is a bit on the low side at 16 GB, but this can be expanded by up to 200 GB using a microSD card. The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system used is just what we’d expect to see on a smartphone of this calibre.

Battery Life

You may be surprised to find out a behemoth like this one is equipped with ‘just’ a 2,700mAh battery. However, Sony says users can expect up to two-day battery life from the juicer.

With quick charging technology, you can get five and hours of use from the Sony Xperia XA Ultra in only 10 minutes of charging – an optional quick charger will be needed, though.

Pricing and Availability

Sony Xperia XA Ultra is not yet available in Nigeria. When available, you can buy it at leading online stores in the country. Sony Sony Xperia XA Ultra Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N120,000 to N170,000 depending on your location in Nigeria.
