In August 2019, LG debuted its latest Tablet called the LG G Pad 5 10.1 with a model number LM-T600L in its home country South Korea. The Android tablet features a brilliant 10.1-inch display and a decent battery capacity.

It’s the successor of the LG G Pad 4 that arrived in 2017. It features some upgrade especially on the screen, bigger battery capacity with fast charging technology and also a fingerprint scanner on the side.

Design and Display

In terms of body design, the device packs a smooth body that measures 247.2 x 150.7 x 8mm and weighs a mammoth 498g. The outer shell is made of metal which gives the LG G Pad 5 10.1 a premium look and smooth body feel.

On the overall, the design is clean with the LG logo neatly placed on the lower center of the panel while the single snapper is placed on the upper left corner. The camera is placed at the same level as the body, which makes it prone to scratches.

Hopefully, they will make arrangements for protection on the lens. The new tablet from LG parades a 10.1-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a 178-degree viewing angle.

The display carries a dedicated blue light filter that helps reduce eye strain. It also comes with a black and white mode that helps when reading e-books or surfing the web.

Camera and Battery

On the camera department, the LG G Pad 5 10.1 features a combo camera set-up. The rear has a single shooter of an 8-megapixel unit that supports autofocus, while the front camera is a 5-megapixel unit.

The main camera is capable of shooting 4K video quality, while the front snapper will capture beautiful selfies. The tablet has a massive non-removable battery capacity of 8,200 mAh with Quick Charge 3.0.

Hardware and Software

Behind the wheel is a 2.34GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 SoC with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The memory is still expandable via a micro SD card up to 512 GB.

It has Adreno 530 GPU for good graphics and gaming. Powering the whole system is Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. The connectivity options on the device are SIM card, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n/ac, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm AUX port, and GPS.

For security, it has a fingerprint scanner placed on edge of the device along with the power button, and volume rocker. You can use the fingerprint to unlock the LG G Pad 5 10.1 and apps with just a finger without entering any passcode.

The LG G Pad 5 10.1 was announced in South Korea with a $380 price tag.

This roughly converts to 138,000 Naira in Nigeria. For now, the Tab is not yet available for purchase. In Ghana, it will sell at a price of 2,200 Ghs and 39,000 Ksh in Kenya.
