Huawei brand has unveiled new smartphones in the Nova series. The smartphones are the Huawei Nova 8 5G and the Nova 8 Pro 5G. Both phones are the direct successor of the Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro that was released earlier this year.

Design and Display
The Huawei Nova 8 is more beautiful than its predecessor which is the Nova 7. It has a nice and smooth panel that features a unique camera module and the branded logo. Its entire body measures 160.1 x 74.1 x 7.6 mm and weighs 169 grams.
The Nova 8 also has a curvature screen display coupled with curved edges which makes it look like the Huawei Mate 40.
The screen size is 6.57-inch and it supports 1080 x 2340 pixel Full HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and also 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The smartphone is also equipped with an OLED panel and it has a 10-bit color depth, DCI-P3 color gamut, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
Cameras
As far as the camera is concerned, the Nova 8 has a punch-hole display hosting the selfies camera of 32-megapixel with an f/2.0 aperture.
The main camera on the back includes a 64-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens that has a 120-degree FOV, a 2 MP macro lens with a 4cm focal length, and lastly is a 2 MP depth camera.
The cameras are paired with an LED flash and they can shoot 4K videos with gyro-EIS.
Hardware and Software
Giving the Huawei Nova 8 5G strength is a Kirin 985 5G chipset based on a 7nm process node and it has an octa-core processor with a clocking speed of 2.58GHz.
Nothing exciting here because it’s the same chipset used on the Nova 7 and even on other phones like Honor X10 and Honor V30 devices.
However, the inbuilt storage is not expandable. This means users only have 128 GB / 256 GB memory and they both are paired with 8GB RAM.
Battery and Network
The Huawei Nova 8 5G draws its power from a non-removable battery of 3,800mAh and the juicer support 66W SuperCharge fast charging technology.
The fast charge takes 35 minutes to fully reach 100% and 15 minutes to 60%. This is way better than the Nova 7 that comes with a 40W fast charge.
