Design

Infinix Hot 30 5G boasts a design that closely resembles its predecessor, the Hot 20, with a matte-finish rear panel and a reflective frame. While the overall design may not be premium, it is quite acceptable given the phone’s price point. The back panel’s matte finish is a practical choice as it prevents smudges, keeping the device looking clean.

The affordable android phone sports a polycarbonate body for both the frame and rear panel, contributing to the phone’s manageable weight, especially with the inclusion of a hefty 6,000 mAh battery. Although the use of plastic may not feel as premium as metal or glass, it is a reasonable trade-off to achieve a more affordable price.

Infinix Hot 30 5G is available in two colors: Aurora Black and Knight Black, providing users with some choice in personalization. The phone’s dimensions measure 168.5 x 76.5 x 9.2 mm, making it slightly bulky, and it weighs 215g, which can be attributed to the substantial battery size.

On the rear, the android phone has a dual-camera system at the left side with flash Led accompany it. The front has a glass screen which measures 84.7% screen-to-body ratio. At the top of the screen, there is a punch hole cutout for the 8 MP front-facing camera. The front also has an almost bezel-free display.

On the connectivity front, the phone offers stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack, the SIM card tray includes three dedicated slots for two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card. One notable feature of Infinix Hot 30 5G is its IP53 rating for dust and water resistance.

Display

The Infinix Hot 30 5G sports a large 6.78 inches IPS LCD display, offering an immersive viewing experience. It measures nearly 85% screen-to-body ratio, which provides an impressive screen real estate, making it ideal for multimedia consumption and productivity tasks.

The display resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels results in a pixel density of approximately 396 pixels per inch (ppi). It also features a 120Hz refresh rate. The display’s refresh rate has three options — 60hz, 90hz, and 120Hz. However, it only switches between 120Hz and 60Hz when set to auto, which enhances the overall smoothness and fluidity of on-screen animations and interactions.

Additionally, the display’s peak brightness of 580 nits allows for better visibility even under direct sunlight or bright lighting conditions. This feature ensures that the content on the screen remains easily readable and vibrant in various lighting environments.

Camera

The Infinix Hot 30 5G comes with a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50 MP main sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and a 0.08 MP depth sensor.

The main sensor captures detailed and well-lit images, particularly in favorable lighting conditions. Furthermore, thanks to the f/1.6 wide aperture, the camera allows more light to enter, resulting in brighter and sharper photos. On the other hand, the secondary camera which is a depth sensor assists in creating a bokeh effect in portrait mode shots, blurring the background and emphasizing the subject.

In daylight conditions, the main sensor performs admirably, capturing images with good color reproduction and adequate dynamic range. However, in low-light environments, the camera’s performance can be somewhat limited, leading to slightly noisy or grainy photos. The quad-LED flash comes in handy, providing sufficient illumination in low-light situations, resulting in well-lit and clearer images.

The camera app offers standard shooting modes, including HDR and panorama, allowing users to experiment with different photography styles. While the camera features are not extensive, they cover the essentials for everyday photography needs. Furthermore, for video recording, the Infinix Hot 30 5G supports up to 1440p@30fps and 1080p@30fps.

On the front, the 8 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a wide lens is suitable for capturing decent selfies. It has a dual-LED flash that ensures well-illuminated selfies, even in low-light conditions. It also offers various shooting modes like AI Cam, Beauty, Portrait, Video, and Film mode, which might confuse some users with their abundance

Hardware and Software

The Infinix Hot 30 5G comes equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset, which provides 5G connectivity and supports 14 5G bands. In day-to-day casual usage, the phone’s performance is satisfactory, handling routine tasks well. However, when subjected to intensive tasks, the device may struggle, revealing its limitations.

Additionally, the chipset is coupled with a Mali-G57 MC2 graphics card for image processing. The Infinix Hot phone also has a 4/8GB RAM with 128GB of Internal storage for both configuration model thus, ensuring smooth multitasking and fast app launches, contributing to a lag-free user experience even during resource-intensive usage.

Furthermore, the Hot 30 5G runs on Android 13 with the XOS 13 user interface, the software experience is user-friendly and intuitive.  The phone comes with pre-loaded bloatware apps that cannot be uninstalled, which might be a downside for some users. However, third-party apps can be removed if they are not required.

On the hardware front, the phone features dual speakers and DTS Sound technology, providing an enhanced audio experience for music, videos, and gaming.

The highlight of the Infinix phone is its massive 6000mAh battery with 18W Type-C fast charging support. The power marathon tech claims to offer impressive battery life, lasting a day comfortably with an extra 15 to 20% charge. The phone’s battery endurance is commendable, making it suitable for users who require long-lasting power without frequent recharging.

In terms of connectivity, the Infinix Hot 30 5G supports dual-SIM cards and has a dedicated microSD card slot. It also supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and NFC.
