Sony Xperia XA1 is a new mid-range Android phone launched at the MWC 2017 alongside the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. The smartphone features a 5.0-inch edge to edge display. Sony Xperia XA1 is available in a single SIM variant and a dual-SIM variant (a.k.a Sony Xperia XA1 Dual).

Sony Xperia XA1

Display and Camera

Sony Xperia XA1 has a 5.0-inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The phone has a borderless design with just a tiny bezel. The front is covered in scratch resistant glass (Corning Gorilla Glass), though we cannot confirm which one it is at this time.

Sony Xperia XA1 features a 23 megapixels camera with an Exmor RS sensor on the back. The camera also features phase detection and laser autofocus, HDR, and Panorama. You also get an 8 megapixels front facing camera with autofocus built-in.

Hardware and Software

Sony Xperia XA1 runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) on the octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 chipset with 3GB RAM. The Android phone has 32GB internal storage with support for up to 256GB memory card.

Sony Xperia XA1 supports NFC, USB Type C, Bluetooth 4.2, and 4G LTE. Depending on the model, the Sony Xperia XA1 may feature Cat6 LTE with download speed of up to 300 Mbps or Cat4 LTE with up to 150Mbps. LTE bands supported will depend on the model and non of the models supports all LTE bands in Nigeria.

While the models G3125 and G3116 will support all bands except the band 20 (Smile and InterC), the models G3121 and G3112 supports all bands except for the band 28 (Glo Mobile) and band 40.

Pricing and availability

Sony Xperia XA1 is not yet available in Nigeria, it expected to begin its global launch in late Spring (i.e before the end of June). We currently have no data on pricing and availability for Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, or any country for that matter. When available, Sony Xperia XA1 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from 150,000 Naira to 250,000 Naira depending on your location in the country.
