Information has been making the rounds for some days now that the first pair of Windows 10 Mobile phones from Microsoft was on the way, with their names given as Talkman and Cityman. Latest leaks show that the devices will be named the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL respectively and are expected to be unveiled in October.

The handsets, which may well be known as the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, shows off a simple design with a Windows logo on the rear based on the latest photo leaks. The Microsoft Lumia 950, which was earlier dubbed Talkman, measures 145.6 x 73.4 x 9.0 millimetres and packs in a 5.2-inch display.
The Cityman (Lumia 950 XL), on the other hand, has a dimension of 153 x 79 x 8.6 millimetres and crams in a massive 5.7-inch touchscreen. Both of these devices are expected to have Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels for amazing viewing experience.
In the camera department, the Lumia 950 and the larger XL variant are set to impress. There is a striking 20-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. There will be 32 GB of inbuilt storage memory which users will be able to further expand with a microSD card.
Under the hood, the smartphones will be configured for impressive performance with a six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. The robust processor will get backing from ample 3 GB of RAM memory. Expectedly, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will run on their maker’s latest Windows 10 Mobile operating system.
However, there is also a rumour that the Lumia 950 XL will come with an eight-core processor. Some rumours also suggest that the phones will be offering 2GB RAM instead.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 will be accompanied by a 3000mAh battery, while the larger XL will have juice supplied for it by a 3300mAh battery. The two will also support Qi wireless charging.
They boast what Microsoft calls High Amplitude Audio Capture (HAAC) with a four-mic arrangement. Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL feature an infrared scanner for fast unlocking as well as USB Type-C support.
The upcoming handsets are expected to be officially announced on October 19.
