Unlike the Kindle and the Nook reader, which feature a 6 inch E ink electronic paper display, the Barnes and Noble Nook Color reader features a color touchscreen displays. Color displays are great for reading magazine, books with diagrams and images, and children’s books. However, they do not read like paper, strains the eye if read for too long, glares when read under the sun and consumes lots of power. Barnes and Noble Nook reader’s display offers clear, sharp text and images with a resolution of 1024 x 600 at 169 pixels per inch (PPI).
