A More Productive Tablet
Microsoft indeed listened to consumers. The company has completely overhauled the design, drawing on consumer feedback, and as a result has come up with a more versatile tablet than major competitors and at a more affordable price. The Microsoft Surface 2 is slimmer, measuring 8.9 mm thick.
The kickstand on the back now opens to two positions, one suited for standing the tablet on flat surfaces like on a table, while the other makes it easier to stand the Surface 2 on your lap.
MicroSoft Surface 2 runs the mobile version of Windows 8.1, the Windows 8.1 RT and will run Metro style apps. The Surface 2 comes with Microsoft Office RT 2013 offering Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote. It comes with a faster processor, a 1.7GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 processor and 2GB RAM.

Microsoft will also offer a Type Cover with built-in battery (called Power Cover) that will extend the use time of the Surface 2 by up to 50%. The Touch Cover 2, Type Cover 2, and Power Cover 2 protects the screen and offers full QWERTY keyboard for faster typing on the Surface.
The Surface 2 still comes with a 10.6-inch display, but the screen is now more brilliant with colour tuning and more pixels. Microsoft Surface 2 offers 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, making full 1080p HD videos on the Surface 2 exciting.
On the back is a 5 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording. A 3.5 megapixels front facing camera also with 1080p HD is provided for video calling like on Skype. Both cameras come with improved low light performance.
Microsoft Surface 2 comes with microHDMI port, full USB 3.0 port, Wi-Fi 802.11 and boasts of up to 10 hours battery life. It will be available with 32 GB or 64 GB storage with 200GB free SkyDrive storage for 2 years.
Microsoft Surface 2 also comes with free Skype calling to landlines in more than 60 countries for one year and unlimited Skype Wi-Fi in more than 2 million Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide.

Microsoft Surface 2 tablet is available in a few online stores in Nigeria. The Surface 2 32GB model sells at a price of around 115,000 Naira at Konga, one of Nigeria’s leading online store.
The Touch cover 2, Type cover 2, and Power Cover 2 are sold separately, but we cannot confirm their pricing and availability in Nigeria.
