Just like the Gear 2, the Samsung Gear 2 Neo smartwatch runs the Tizen OS on a 1.0GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB built-in storage. It also spots a 1.64-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels.
Samsung Gear 2 Neo features a heart rate sensor on the back that seats on the surface of your skin to regularly monitor your heart rate. It features a pedometer with various modes for exercising and can be used as a remote control for your devices with the built-in Infra red blaster and the WatchON remote app.
Samsung Gear 2 Neo smartwatch comes with swappable straps, enabling you choose from colourful straps in Charcoal Black, Mocha Grey or Wild Orange to express your style and mood at any time. Samsung Gear 2 Neo will launch with about 100 apps globally and will support 17 Samsung Galaxy devices. An open SDK will also be available to enable developers build more apps.
Pricing & Availability
Samsung Gear 2 Neo will be available from April about the same time as the Galaxy S5. Samsung has not made the pricing official, but we expect the price to be lower than both the Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
