Jumia launches Same Day Delivery in Lagos

Best Freelancers to help you Grow your Business

Jumia, one of Nigeria’s leading online store, has launched same day delivery for consumers in Lagos. The service called Express Delivery by the online store enables you receive the products you ordered on the same day as long as your shipping address is located in a supported zone in Lagos.

Jumia Same Day Delivery

Managing Director of Jumia Nigeria Nicolas Martin speaking on the Delivery innovation stated “this level of convenience is what we aim to provide for our customers. We always make sure we are giving our customer the best of online retail experience with our service delivery, Express delivery is a gamer changer for Ecommerce operations in Nigeria”

Same-day delivery is a good development as it makes online shopping even more convenient by trimming the long wait time between order and delivery to a reasonable time frame.

To qualify for same day delivery, your delivery address must be Lagos. Not all locations in Lagos or products are supported. To make things simple, the Jumia online store will only offer the Express Delivery option if you are qualified during checkout.

To get your order same-day, you need to place the order before 1:00 pm on the day. Like our people say ‘Beta Soup Na Money Buy Am’, so Jumia Express Delivery will cost you 750 Naira extra.

Same day delivery is the next logical step for Jumia after the company launched next day delivery in April. It creates more competition in the industry and will probably make things difficult for smaller online stores based in Lagos whose only advantage over the bigger eCommerce sites like Jumia is their prompt same day delivery.
