You can check your 2016 JAMB UTME result within 96 hours of sitting for the examination. This is because JAMB has now improved on its computer based testing (CBT). Your UTME 2016 result will be sent via SMS to your mobile phone 30 minutes after you finish the test. However, this does not work all the time, but you can also check your UTME 2016 result at the JAMB result checker website after about 4 days.

Note that though JAMB promises that the result will be available in 96 hours, it may not be available for one reason or another. So, if you check your UTME result and it is not yet available after 96 hours, give it a day or two before checking again.

A total of 1,589,175 applied for UTME 2016, which is 113,673 more than last year.

For comparison, a total of 1,475,477 candidates sat for UTME 2015, which ran from March 10 to March 21, 2015 in about 400 centres nationwide and seven foreign centres.
