If you desire to have a quality tablet without paying too much, the Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300 might just be what you are looking for. This budget tablet launched at this year’s Mobile World Congress is designed to give you access to a complete Windows experience at a pocket-friendly price tag, more or less like the Innjoo Leap.
The Design
Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300 will not win the crown for the lightest and thinnest tablet, but it is still portable at a weight of 360 grams and thickness of 9.3 millimetres.
Plastic features very significantly in the construction of the slate’s body – something which should not really be considered surprising in the light of its low price. However, the rear of the tablet has a somewhat high-end feel to it with a brushed effect featuring silver and black colours.
Display and Camera
The tablet packs in an 8-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and wide viewing angles. With a density of 188 pixels per inch, the Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300 outdoes Apple’s iPad Mini when it comes to display sharpness.
Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300 is fitted with a 5-megapixel camera on the rear – this is not much different from what an average tablet packs. There is also a front-facing camera.
Performance and Software
The Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300 is equipped with a quad-core Intel Atom (Bay Trail) processor, which should offer decent performance. The chip is backed up by RAM of 2GB, while internal storage memory is 64GB and is expandable through a microSD card slot.
With twice as much RAM and four times as much built-in storage as the Innjoo Leap line, the Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300 looks very much like an attractive offer.
The tablet runs on Windows 8.1 with Bing, which is an optimised version of the standard Windows 8.1 operating system that is increasingly being used on budget devices.
Other Features
The battery provided on the Ideapad MIIX 300 can last up to 7 hours on a single charge, according to Lenovo. Bluetooth and wireless are covered on the slate, which has several pre-loaded applications, including Office 365 (with one-year free subscription) and Skype.
Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300 is expected to be available from June and will sell for only $149.
Pricing and availability
Lenovo Ideapad Miix 300 is not yet available in Nigeria. When available, Lenovo MIIX 300 will be available at leading online stores in the country. Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 300 Price in Nigeria is expected to start at around N29,000.
