Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is a new tablet that is designed to deliver impressive versatility unlike what you have seen before. It features a unique modular design, stunning display, a detachable keyboard, a sixth-generation Intel Core processor and abundant memory.
Build and Screen
This slate features the sort of build quality you would expect of any product in Lenovo’s popular ThinkPad line-up. It parades a metal body and has a thickness of just 13 millimetres and weighs only 1.1 kg, with the detachable keyboard included.
Like Microsoft Surface Pro 4, it also has a kickstand which utilizes a different kind of hinge mechanism. The keyboard cover, featuring the signature ThinkPad design, has a trackpad and an integrated TrackPoint allowing you use Lenovo ThinkPad X1 tablet like a regular laptop. It is easily attached to the device with the aid of magnets.
It packs a 12-inch display with stunning 2K resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels that should make for impressive clarity. It uses in-plane switching (IPS) technology for exciting wide-angle viewing. The display supports a stylus pen.
A key selling point of the ThinkPad X1 tablet is its innovative modular design. It offers three detachable modules, namely: Productivity, Presenter and 3D Imaging modules.
As its name suggests, the Productivity Module is intended to help you be more productive by bumping available USB 3.0 ports to three while also providing a full-size HDMI port and a OneLink+ docking port.
It adds an additional battery life of five hours as well. The Presenter or Projector Module lets you transform Lenovo ThinkPad X1 tablet into a projector that can beam up to 60 inches of display from a distance of two metres away.
The 3D Imaging Module gives you an Intel RealSense 3D camera for image capturing and editing for design projects and 3D printing. All three modules are optional.
Power and Performance
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is powered by sixth-generation Intel Core M series processors, which its maker says will deliver ‘powerful PC experience.’ Buyers will be able to choose units powered by up to Core M7 vPro processor.
The powerful CPU is backed with abundant system memory of up to 16 GB for smooth multitasking. Fluid performance is further assured with the use of PCIe, NVMe SSDs of up to 1 TB for storage. The slate runs on Windows 10 Pro operating system.
Pricing and Availability
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet is not yet available in Nigeria. When available, you can buy it at leading online stores in the country. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N180,000 to N350,000 depending on your location in Nigeria.
