Design and Display
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 features similar premium design as its predecessor with a body fashioned out of magnesium alloy. But it comes in slimmer and lighter at 8.4 mm and 766 g respectively, compared to the Surface Pro 3’s 9.1 mm and 794 g.
Surface Pro 4 retains that 2-in-1 design which means you can either use it as a tablet or pair with a keyboard (Type Cover) to use as a laptop. The new keyboard, which you still have to buy separately now comes with more spaces between the keys for more typing comfort.
The new Type Cover also adds a fingerprint scanner.
The Display
Display size has been bumped to 12.3 inches with a better screen resolution of 2736 x 1824 pixels. The improved touchscreen is protected by rugged, scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and has a 3:2 aspect ratio.
Surface Pro 4 also boasts a PixelSense technology which enables it optimise response to touch by finger or stylus instantly.
Desktop-Level Performance
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is configured to deliver desktop-quality performance with latest Intel Core processors codenamed Skylake. The base model comes with an M3 CPU, but you can have a unit with up to Core i7.
With as much as 16 GB of RAM and powerful GPUs supplied, you should expect nothing but very robust performance from the Surface Pro 4.

Unlike the Surface Pro 3, this new 2-in-1 laptop will run on latest Windows 10 Pro. Surface Pro 4 is expected to also offer up to nine hours of battery runtime.
Its rear camera has been upgraded to 8 megapixels while the selfie snapper still uses a 5-megapixel sensor. The Surface Pro 4 comes with between 128GB and 1TB solid state drive, depending on configuration.
The Surface Pro 4 offers a USB 3.0 port, a microSD card reader, a Mini DisplayPort, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, amongst others, for physical and wireless connectivity. In terms of accessories, it has an upgraded Type Cover and Surface Pen.
The Type Cover features key backlight, wider key spacing and a glass trackpad that is 40 percent bigger; it is backwards compatible with the previous-generation Surface Pro. The new Surface Pen boasts 1024 pressure sensitivity levels.
