Microsoft Surface Book, which is its maker’s first laptop, is a high-end product – you can even tell this from its build quality. It features a chassis made of premium aluminium with nice silver finish. The convertible laptop is relatively thin and slim with thickness starting at about 13 mm and weight put at around 1.6 kg.

The Surface Book parades a detachable design common to Surface devices, enabling you use as a laptop or as tablet (with the keyboard detached or flipped). It is equipped with a backlit keyboard and a glass-covered trackpad.

The machine sports a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with an amazing resolution of 3000 x 2000 pixels and a pixel density of approximately 267 ppi, promising crisp viewing.

Microsoft Surface Book uses a solid state drive of up to 1TB capacity for storage, boosting its responsiveness and performance. It comes with a Surface Pen capable of different functions, including activation of Cortana.

The convertible laptop, which offers up to 12 hours of battery runtime, features an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and Full HD video recording capability and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera – probably rather excessive for a device this big.

Quality sound is provided by front-facing stereo speakers backed by Dolby audio technology. The Surface Book features two full-size USB 3.0 ports, a Mini DisplayPort and an SD card reader among its port offerings.

Microsoft Surface Book 2-in-1 laptop is available in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya. It went on sale in the United States starting at $1,499 on October 26, 2015. Microsoft Surface Book price in Nigeria is expected to start at around 550,000 Naira, depending on your location and the configuration of the laptop.
