Design and Display
In terms of body design, the Redmi 9i flaunts a nice looking body that is wrapped with plastic and glass. The panel houses the camera and an LED flash in between in a vertical order.
It measures 164.9 x 77.1 x 9 mm and weighs 194 grams. The handset lacks a fingerprint scanner but comes in a waterdrop notch that offers a large display size of a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel.
The screen delivers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The smartphone also boasts of 270 nits typ. brightness and it has an 81.0% screen-to-body ratio.
Cameras
On the cameras aspect, the Redmi 9i is equipped with a combo camera setup. There is a single snapper of 13 MP on the back for photography that features an LED flash and HDR.
The camera can also record 1080p videos at 30 seconds per frame. The selfies camera is just another single shooter of 5 MP and it has the same features as the main camera except for the LED flash. Well, the phone will take nice photos but won’t be that great though.
Hardware and Software
The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset based on 12nm process technology. The chip is coupled with an octa-core processor clocking at a speed of 2.0 GHz.
The entry-level chip is modest for gaming and it has PowerVR GE8320 for graphics. The inbuilt storage is 4 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB storage. In comparison, the Redmi 9i will perform a little better than the Redmi 9A that has just 2GB RAM and 32GB storage.
Just as expected, the phone newly unveiled 9i runs on MIUI 12 based Android 10 OS preinstalled and it also has a dedicated slot for adding a microSD card slot.
Battery and Network
The handset has a massive 5,000mAh battery. The juicer comes with support for 10W charging and will last for many hours when fully charged.
The network availability option and other features include dual SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, micro USB, a 3.5mm audio jack, and there is a P2i splash-resistant nano-coating.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9i will sell for $113 for the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage while the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition cost up to $126.
In Nigeria, it will start selling for 45,000 Naira, about 700 Ghs in Ghana, and 14,000 Ksh in Kenya. It will ship in color variants like Nature Green, Sea Blue, and Midnight Black.
