Design
TCL 40 XL sports a minimalist design with a slim profile measuring 167.9 x 76.5 x 8.8 mm while weighing just 195 grams. It has a simple build with glass front, plastic frame and back, hence the overall sturdy feel.
At first glance, the front panel is dominated by a large 6.56-inch display with thin bezels and a tear drop notch which holds the front camera. The display comes with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels resulting in a pixel density of approximately 260 pixels per inch (ppi).
It also features a 90Hz refresh rate. That doesn’t sound impressive, but the display does use the NXTVISION technology that TCL is known for. This technology essentially upscales SDR content into HDR.
