2009 Toyota Camry engine is unchanged. A 2.4 litre 16-valve Variable Valve Timing-intelligence (VVT-i) four-cylinder engine providing 158hp at 6000rpm still powers Camry. A 3.5 litre V6 engine is also available for Toyota Camry LE, SE, and XLE trims. Camry CE, LE and SE come standard with five-speed manual transmission system while Toyota Camry XLE is equipped with five-speed automatic transmission system. 2009 Toyota Camry V6 models come with 6-speed automatic transmission. All these are unchanged from 2008 Toyota Camry models.
Toyota Camry 2009 is also available in Hybrid models. 2009 Camry hybrid runs on a 2.4 litre 4-cylinder petrol engine mated with a powerful 187hp electric motor. Camry Hybrid electric vehicle HEV is available in some markets.
Like the 2008 Camry, Toyota Camry 2009 comes loaded with safety features. Four-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), and Electronic brake assist is standard. Other driving safety features include Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction control.
Toyota Camry is equipped with Driver and front passenger front and side airbags with side curtain airbags. The driver is also protected with a knee airbag.
All Toyota Camry models are fitted with CFC free air conditioner. Toyota Camry CE, Camry LE and Camry SE models are equipped with CD/mp3/WMA player, AM/FM radio with in glass antenna and an audio system with six speakers. 2009 Camry XLE adds six-disc CD changer with satellite radio and 8 speakers.
Features like Power windows, Power mirrors, Power door locks, Engine immobilizer, and cruise control are all standard in Toyota Camry. All Toyota Camry trims are equipped with 16 inches tyres except Camry SE, which comes with 17 inches tyres. Keyless entry is available for Toyota Camry LE, SE, and Camry XLE trims.
