Design
The Motorola Razr 2025 continues the Razr tradition of delivering a slim, stylish foldable with a thoughtful design that balances portability and practicality. When unfolded, the phone measures 171.2 x 74 x 7.3 mm, and when folded, it compacts down to 88.1 x 74 x 15.8 mm, weighing just 188g, making it extremely pocket-friendly and easy to handle in one hand.
Just like its more expensive siblings, the Razr Plus and Razr Ultra, the Razr 2025 has a clean and modern design. Motorola uses premium materials throughout the build. The back panel features a silicone polymer layer with an eco-leather texture, offering both grip and a soft-touch, high-end feel.
The middle frame is constructed from 6000 Series Aviation Aluminum with Air Nanoskin coating, giving the phone a sleek yet sturdy appearance. The titanium steel hinge has been tested to handle over 200,000 folds, ensuring long-term durability while maintaining a smooth open-and-close motion. And it stays open at different angles, which means you can use it like a mini tripod to take pictures, record videos, or use it hands-free on a table.
When folded, the Motorola Razr 2025 is small enough to fit in almost any pocket, with no awkward bulge and no sharp corners. It’s super light too, so it doesn’t weigh you down. It’s the kind of phone you’ll love holding and flipping open just because it feels so smooth and satisfying.
On the outside, there’s a 3.6-inch Cover Display that almost fills the entire front of the phone. The cover screen is nearly edge-to-edge and wraps elegantly around the dual camera cutouts in the bottom corner, giving the phone a modern and refined look. You can run any app on it, reply to messages, check the weather, or even take selfies with the main cameras, all without opening the Android phone.
The dual-camera system is located on the left of the external display, allowing for flexible photo options—selfies with the main camera when folded, or traditional shots when open. The rear panel carries the iconic Motorola logo, embossed into the eco-leather finish for a subtle, premium touch.
Open it up, and you’re greeted by a big 6.9-inch pOLED screen that’s bright, colorful, and super smooth. It features Dynamic AMOLED technology, slim bezels, and a high screen-to-body ratio for an immersive viewing experience. The main screen folds flat with no visible gap, thanks to Motorola’s gapless hinge design, which also helps minimize the appearance of the central crease. But it’s barely noticeable when you’re using the phone.
Additionally, a small punch-hole camera is positioned at the top center of the screen for selfies and video calls, preserving the clean, full-screen look.
The buttons (power and volume) are easy to reach on the right side, and the power button also works as a fingerprint scanner—it’s fast and reliable. There’s also face unlock if you prefer that. The USB-C port and speaker are on the bottom, and the SIM card slot is on the left.
The Motorola Razr 2025 is offered in four vibrant colors: Gibraltar Sea (deep blue), Lightest Sky (flecked white), Parfait Pink, and Spring Bud (bright green). Each color is paired with a matching matte aluminum frame for a cohesive and polished aesthetic.
Display
The Motorola Razr 2025 offers a dual-display setup that blends style with everyday practicality.
On the outside, it features a 3.6-inch AMOLED cover display with a 382 x 720 resolution, designed for quick tasks and effortless access. This panel wraps around the dual rear cameras and delivers sharp visuals, with deep blacks and vibrant colors that maintain clarity even under bright sunlight.
While it’s smaller than the 4-inch display found on the Ultra model, the Razr’s cover screen still supports full app usage, giving users the ability to reply to messages, navigate with maps, and control media playback—all without unfolding the device.
This smaller screen also supports a 90Hz refresh rate, offering smooth interactions, and includes features like full DC dimming and HDR10+ certification, ensuring a high-quality viewing experience with reduced eye strain. The external display can reach a peak brightness of 1700 nits, making it highly usable in various lighting conditions.
Opening the device reveals a 6.9-inch foldable pOLED main display, built with Dynamic AMOLED technology for high contrast and vivid color reproduction. With support for 1 billion colors, this screen delivers incredibly rich and accurate visuals, making everything from browsing to gaming pop with vivid detail.
Furthermore, the 1080 x 2640 resolution gives it a sharp 413ppi pixel density, so images and text look crisp and clear. This display can reach a peak brightness of 3000 nits, ensuring clear visibility even under bright sunlight.
The screen also supports a touch response rate of 220Hz and a 120Hz refresh rate for scrolling and animations feel buttery smooth, while the LTPO technology helps manage power efficiently by adjusting the refresh rate based on what you’re doing.
While the Razr 2025 doesn’t include Dolby Vision support, it does offer HDR10 and HDR10+, ensuring vibrant colors and deeper contrast when watching supported content. Thanks to Widevine L1 compliance, you can stream DRM-protected content in full high resolution from platforms like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
Camera
The Motorola Razr 2025 retains the same camera hardware as its predecessor, but that’s not a dealbreaker, especially for a foldable that prioritizes compact style and everyday usability. Its dual rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor (f/1.7, 25mm) with OIS and dual pixel PDAF, paired with a 13MP ultrawide lens (f/2.2, 120˚). This setup may not lead the pack in raw specs, but it handles most scenarios with ease and a touch of flexibility.
In Portrait mode, the Razr offers three focal lengths—24mm, 35mm, and 50mm, to better frame subjects. The 24mm option provides good subject separation with a natural look, avoiding the overly aggressive blur seen in some portrait modes. 35mm is also usable, though fine detail drops off slightly.
The 50mm setting, however, delivers the best perspective for portraiture, especially for faces. It keeps proportions flattering while producing a believable bokeh effect, though it’s better appreciated at regular view—pixel-peeping too much may break the illusion.
The OIS helps reduce blur, especially in lower light conditions, although performance in dim settings is decent rather than outstanding. The ultrawide lens is great for landscapes or group shots, but as with most ultrawide cameras, there’s a slight drop in sharpness and dynamic range compared to the main sensor.
The ultrawide lens offers solid results in well-lit conditions. Autofocus adds versatility for macro-style shots, but as with most ultrawide sensors of this size, edges can soften, and dynamic range isn’t as robust as the main camera. That said, color accuracy is a strong point across both lenses, thanks to Pantone Validated Colour and Skin Tone calibration.
Video performance is respectable, with 4K@30fps support and gyro-EIS keeping handheld clips steady. There’s also 1080p at 60/120fps for slow-motion and smooth playback. The footage is vibrant in daylight, with decent stabilization, though noise becomes noticeable in low light.
On the front, a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera (f/2.4, 25mm) delivers detailed selfies with good exposure and dynamic range. It supports 4K and 1080p video recording, but the real win is the ability to use the main cameras for selfies with the help of the 3.6-inch cover display. It’s a feature that truly enhances the Razr’s foldable form factor, allowing users to take high-quality self-portraits without ever unfolding the phone.
Hardware and Software
On the inside, the Motorola Razr 2025 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X, a refined foldable-focused chipset that represents a notable upgrade over the Dimensity 7300X found in the previous Razr 50 model. While it doesn’t quite match the flagship-level Dimensity 9000+ used in premium foldables like the Oppo Find N2 Flip, the 7400X delivers efficient performance and everyday reliability with ease.
The chipset features an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz for power efficiency. This setup ensures the device remains responsive under pressure, whether you’re multitasking, streaming, or simply browsing. Backing this up is the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, which handles graphics rendering well for casual gaming, multimedia, and smooth UI animations. This hardware is reliable in daily tasks and light-to-moderate use cases.
The foldable phone is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, using UFS 2.2 technology. With the UFS 2.2 storage technology, this phone delivers decent read/write speeds for quicker app launches and fluid performance. While the lack of a microSD card slot limits storage expansion, the higher-capacity option gives plenty of room for users who need extra space.
On the software side, Motorola stays true to its roots with a clean, near-stock Android 15 experience. The interface is fast, fluid, and free of bloatware. Motorola’s take on Android remains simple and intuitive, bolstered by Android 15’s new features like better multitasking, enhanced privacy controls, and adaptive display settings that suit both the main and cover screens.
Android 15 also refines Material You theming and adds tools for improved battery efficiency and accessibility. Motorola’s MyUX enhancements add thoughtful features like gesture shortcuts and app continuity between the main and cover screens, while maintaining Android’s intuitive feel.
Accessibility also gets a boost, with improvements to Voice Access, magnification tools, and screen reader support. Digital Wellbeing features help users manage screen time and focus better, while improved gesture navigation and smart text selection make day-to-day interaction seamless.
Battery-wise, the Razr 2025 includes a 4,500mAh battery, slightly larger than last year’s 4,200mAh unit, giving the Razr 2025 a longer lifespan between charges. Motorola pairs this with 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, making topping up convenient whether you’re plugged in or using a Qi charger. In day-to-day use, the battery comfortably lasts a full day on moderate usage, especially when taking advantage of the outer display for quick tasks.
For connectivity, the Motorola Razr 2025 checks all the right boxes. It supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC, covering everything from high-speed internet to wireless payments. The USB-C port (USB 2.0) handles charging and data transfers.
