Nigerian markets are filled with Electronic products from popular brands like LG, Samsung, Sony, Nokia, Panasonic, Sharp, and many more. However, you are advised not to buy products from simply any shop in the market. This is because some electronic products sold in Nigerian markets are fake or substandard. In addition, because of the disorganized nature of Nigerian markets it is very hard to locate the actual shop where you purchased a product, if you run into problems.

Some traders take advantage of this weakness to dupe unsuspecting Nigerians of their money. Some Electronic Products branded as Sony, LG, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola and Panasonic are fake products. These Electronic products are easy targets for counterfeiters because they are popular brands in Nigeria. Even when the product is original you can hardly get an enforceable warranty on the electronic product.

When you want to buy an Electronic product from any of the leading brands like Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sharp we suggest that you look for an accredited dealer.

Buying from an accredited dealer comes with a number of advantages. One, the Electronic products you buy from accredited dealers are more likely to be original products. Two, you will get an enforceable warranty (at least a year) on any gadget you buy from such a dealer. This may come as a replacement of the product if found to be defective within the warranty period. Authorised dealers may also offer to repair defective products at no cost to you. However, before this can happen you must first prove that the damage is not as a result of your carelessness.

Another advantage of buying your electronic products from accredited dealers is that they offer after sales services to customers. When you buy a product from any shop in the market your contract with the trader ends once you pay for the product. In fact, these traders often write the following inscription on your payment receipt "No refund of money after payment". However, your contract with an accredited dealer lasts throughout the life of the electronic product.

You can also get purchase/consumer financing from some accredited Electronics dealers. Some of these dealers have relationships with banks that can enable you buy an Electronics product on credit. You pay a certain percentage of the value of the Electronic product you want to buy (between 10 and 40%). You will then be expected to pay the balance in 12 to 24 months. To benefit from such credit financing you must be credit worthy. One rule for calculating your credit worthiness is that the balance payment of the electronic product you want to finance on credit must be less than 40% of your annual income.
