Etisalat the owner of the fifth GSM license in Nigeria plans to launch mobile telecoms services in August. The company since it acquired the fifth GSM license has spent about one billion dollars in deploying her state of the art telecoms infrastructure in Nigeria.

Etisalat hopes to beat her performance in Egypt in her Nigerian operations. Etisalat achieved a 4.2 million subscriber base within one year of operations in Egypt.
