Apple iMac 27-inch with Retina 5K 2015

Design and Display

Nothing significant has changed in the look of the new iMac computers, compared to their predecessors. But the display has experienced impressive update. Unlike last year, Apple has provided a stunning Retina 5K display on every one of the 27-inch iMac models (which is same as the iMac early 2015 model).

That is the highest screen resolution offered by any all-in-one PC, at an amazing 14.7 million pixels – about seven times more pixels than offered by an HD display. We are talking about awesome, jaw-dropping screen quality here.

The 21.5-inch iMac, which previously topped out at Full HD, now offers an option of Retina 4K display.

Upgraded Accessories

The wireless keyboard, mouse and trackpad for the iMac have also been refreshed. The improved, full-size Magic Keyboard takes less space (about 13%) and is designed for more comfortable and precise typing.

Magic TrackPad 2 is 29-percent larger and, for the first time, makes the innovative Force Touch technology available on desktop. Although as thick as the last one, Magic Mouse 2 is lighter and looks more durable.

All three accessories are now powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and can be paired with computer in no time using a Lightning-to-USB cable.

Performance

Apple says the refreshed 27-inch iMac is equipped with latest-generation Intel Core processors. The CPUs are supported by up to 32 GB of RAM and latest AMD Radeon graphics to produce up to 3.7 teraflops of computing power.

The 21.5-inch iMac, on the other hand, comes with a fifth-generation Intel Core processor, an Intel Iris Pro Graphics and up to 16 GB of RAM.

Other Features

The 2015 Apple iMac models will boot latest Mac OS X El Capitan operating system, which is specifically built for Retina displays and offers better performance and features as well as improved management.

A variety of zippy storage options are available, including 1TB Fusion Drive + 24GB fast flash and 2TB/3TB Fusion Drive with 128GB fast flash.

The stunning iMac all-in-one offers super-fast Wi-Fi 802.11ac and two Thunderbolt 2 ports which promises data transfer speeds of up to 20 Gbps for external drives and other high-performance peripherals.

Pricing and availability

The late 2015 refresh of the Apple iMac has gone on sale in the United States starting at $1,099 for the 21.5-inch models and the 27-inch model priced at without $1,799. iMac price in Nigeria is expected to start at around N200,000, depending on your location and the configuration of the All-in-One desktop.
