Cubot Note S Specs & Price

Best Jumia Tech Week Deals

Although the name of its maker may not ring a bell in these parts, the Cubot Note S is an attractively-priced 3G-enabled smartphone which many budget-conscious buyers may find quite appealing, especially those interested in long battery life. The phone offers a large, fully-laminated HD display, a colossal battery, and a quad-core processor coupled with decent memory. You may also be interested in the Cubot X18

Cubot Note S

Build and Display

The Cubot Note S, with its rounded corners, looks more attractive to the eye than the rectangular slab design of some budget smartphones. It should be comfortable to handle despite its large size. Customised covers are also offered for the Cubot Note S, which packs a huge 5.5-inch full-lamination display.

The touchscreen boasts 2.5D glass, an anti-fingerprint film, and HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels for a pixel density of about 267 ppi. Although an IPS panel, the screen’s ability to offer enjoyable wide-angle viewing is somehow compromised by the rather low resolution, however.

Camera and Storage

The Cubot Note S should fare well in terms of image-capturing, although it might not break records. It offers a combo of 5-megapixel rear-facing snapper and 2-megapixel selfie camera.

The primary shooter with LED flashlight and autofocus can be interpolated to 8 megapixels, while the secondary camera supports interpolation to 5 megapixels. Internal storage capacity is 16 GB, extendable by up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

Power and Performance

Described as having ‘Cheetah Inside,’ the Cubot Note S is decked out with a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor running at a maximum speed of 1.3 GHz. The ‘high-speed’ CPU is supported for manageable responsiveness by a decent 2 GB of RAM.

In essence, this phone should deliver smooth performance so long you do not leave too many apps open at a time. It promises enjoyable user experience with Android 5.1 Lollipop in charge of matters.

A key highlight of the Cubot Note S, however, is its battery with a large capacity of 4,150mAh. The juicer should get the phablet running for many hours, especially when you consider its low screen resolution.

The Cubot Note S supports dual-SIM dual standby feature and comes with Bluetooth 4.0, 3G support and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. GPS with A-GPS is also part of the package as would be expected these days.
