It combines the functionality of a regular smartwatch and fitness tracker, while also offering exciting features such as a heart rate monitor, FitStar and GPS connection capability.
Design and Display
The Fitbit Blaze sports a sleek unisex design that, to an extent, looks to rival the great Apple Watch.
The Fitbit Blaze has a body made of stainless steel and will come with straps in small, medium and large sizes to make it appeal to both male and female users.
In addition to the classic bands, you will be able to customise your unit with a leather or metal variant at an extra cost.
The smartwatch sports a 1.66-inch colour LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 180 pixels.
This means it offers a better screen that the Fitbit Surge. The display is protected by rugged Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and can be customised with different clock faces.
Smart Fitness Watch
The Fitbit Blaze is a special smartwatch specifically designed to appeal more to those who love to stay fit.
Just like a regular fitness tracker, it will be able to track all your activity round the clock, showing you how active you have been, steps taken, distance covered, and calories burned.
You can also be provided on-screen, detailed instructions on how to go about a workout session with FitStar, while PurePulse Heart Rate helps to keep tab on how your heart is performing while exercising.
A Multi-Sport feature lets you choose from sport modes, including running and biking, and see real-time stats displayed on the screen.
The new SmartTrack software automatically recognises and records workout sessions so you never miss a thing.
The Fitbit Blaze is also able to track your sleep quality to enable you detect any need for improvement.
Unlike the Surge, the Fitbit Blaze will not come with integrated GPS, but will connect to the one on your smartphone to map out routes and see information such as pace.
Data can be viewed on the Fitbit app, which is available for all major mobile operating system.
The Fitbit Blaze promises 5-day battery life on a charge. It enables you control the songs being played on your smartphone.
