Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) Specs and Price

Samsung is offering to release its latest mid-range smartphones, which includes the Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) and A6 Plus (2018) with the former being the cheapest of the pair. Want a Samsung flagship experience without having to go for their expensive high-end smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) is a good place to start. Shipping with some interesting features like Infinity Super AMOLED display and Bixby AI support. There’s also a degree of structural similarities to the more premium Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone.

Design and Display

It’s quite a solid smartphone made from metal rather than glass seen in the high-end Galaxy smartphones. You would also see an 18.5:9 aspect ratio alongside a bezel-less display although not curved like in the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. The antenna lines can be noticed close to the bottom and top of the rear panel. You would also find the fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the centrally positioned camera towards the top of the rear panel while the front camera, speaker and other sensors are at the top of the screen.

Like most of Samsung Galaxy smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A6 comes with an AMOLED display. With minimal bezels around, the display is quite crisp and attractive with a size of 5.6-inch. There are vibrant colours on display with nice viewing angle and a 1480 X 720 pixels resolution. You also have a fair visibility in sunlight and it shouldn’t be a problem using your phone outdoors.

Battery and Camera

As for the battery inside, the Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) comes with a mediocre battery capacity of 3, 000mAh . Nonetheless, this might be able to take you through the day if usage is light rather than intensive. You also get to charge through a USB Type-C port, although, there is no word if fast charge is available or not.

You will get by taking pictures with quite the same pixel camera both front and back each armed with its own flash. The smartphone features a 16MP rear camera, while at the front you also have a 16MP camera with a f/1.9 aperture and a f/1.7 on the former. This is a nice arrangement for a mid-range device.

Hardware and Software

At the core of things, you will find Samsung’s own Exynos 7870 chipset with eight cores running at 1.6GHz max. This is not a bad idea for a mid-range smartphone  which should give you quite a smooth performance and quality gaming giving a Mali-T830 MP1 GPU.

Still on hardware, the smartphone has 3GB and 4GB RAM variants that comes with 32GB storage space while the latter has 64GB internal storage space. Like the bunch of other 2018 smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) runs on Android 8.0 Oreo from the factory.
