Acer Chromebase is a result of collaboration between Google and Acer geared towards enabling seamless meetings. It is a Chrome OS-powered all-in-one video conferencing system offering organisations, especially those with small spaces, decent alternative to the Chromebox released back in 2014.

Design and Display

The Acer Chromebase shows off an elegant design that is sure to complement an office space perfectly. The chassis is sleek and it is accompanied by a monitor stand which enables you tilt the screen between five and 30 degrees.

And talking about the display, the Acer Chromebase crams in a massive 24-inch diagonal display based on In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology – the system beats the display-less Chromebox in this regard.

Acer says this screen is the largest to be found on any Chrome OS-powered device to date. The display boasts a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and offers optional 10-point multi-touch support.

All-in-One Video Conferencing

The Acer Chromebase delivers impressive video conferencing capability as the Chromebox, albeit more fittingly for smaller spaces. It is described as a personal terminal built to allow up to two people to take part in video conferencing in a room at the same time.

The dedicated video conferencing device connects to Google Hangouts allowing up to 25 persons to participate in a session. Those who do not have a Google account will supposedly be able to take part in these sessions as well.

More about the Acer Chromebase

It is said that the Acer Chromebase will come in diverse configurations and offer Intel Core processors. The all-in-one video conferencing device comes with an adjustable HD camera, a pair of stereo speakers and a four-mic array system for seamless conferencing.

Acer Chromebase for meetings currently has a price tag of $799 (about 160,000 Naira).
