Design and Display
Parading an aluminium chassis, the Acer S 13 is a solidly-built laptop that should withstand occasional knocks and drops. It has diamond-cut edges and its hinge features metallic coating.
The notebook is both ultra-slim and lightweight at just 14.4 millimetres and about 1.4 kilograms respectively. Acer S 13 will be made available in pearl white and obsidian black colours.
The ultraportable sports a 13.3-inch diagonal display with Full HD (1,080p) resolution. This optional touchscreen uses in-plane switching (IPS) technology to deliver amazing wide-angle viewing.
Performance
Acer has decided not to pinch on performance with the Aspire S 13 by equipping it with latest Intel Core i series processors. You will be able to get a unit with a Core i3, i5 or i7 CPU, as your pocket can support.
The ultrabook can be paired with up to 8 GB of RAM for significantly robust performance and smooth multitasking. The use of solid state drives with capacity of up to 512 GB for storage ensures faster boot times and responsiveness.
Miscellaneous Specs and Features
The S 13 will run on the latest Windows 10 operating system. The juicer on the Acer Aspire S 13 is expected to offer about nine hours in battery runtime, similar to what HP Spectre is rated to be capable of delivering. An optional 3-cell, 54WHr Li-Ion battery will supposedly give you up to an amazing 13 hours on a charge!
The ultra-slim notebook will come with a reversible USB Type-C port. Ports and interfaces also include two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and an SD card slot.
