Speed dial is a feature on Opera and Opera mini browsers that gives you one click access to your nine most favourite websites. Thumbnails of your nine most favourite websites are displayed in a 3 x 3 format. When you download Opera mini browser it will come with some speed dial thumbnails preloaded. You can add Opera mini speed dials thumbnails of your favourite websites in simple steps. In this page we will provide guide for Editing, adding, and deleting speed dial thumbnails on Opera mini and Opera mobile. We will be using Opera mini 5 running on Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic in this guide.

Editing Opera mini speed dials

To edit Opera mini speed dials follow the following steps:

  1. Move focus to the Opera mini speed dial thumbnail you want to edit
  2. Press the 1 key on your mobile phone, two menu options will appear
  3. Select the Edit option, an address box will appear as well as a list of some websites you have visited previously
  4. If you want to edit the URL of the Opera mini thumbnail, select edit by pressing D-pad on Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic and then edit the URL in the address bar, you may also select any of the other sites or enter an entirely new URL
  5. Select Add by pressing D-pad on Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic, Opera mini will then connect to the site and load the speed dial thumbnail

If all is well and your network connection and settings are okay, your speed dial will be loaded in a few seconds.

Deleting Opera mini speed dials

Sometimes you may want to delete Opera mini speed dials. You can delete the speed dial thumbnails that are preloaded with Opera mini as well the one you added yourself. However, it is not necessary to delete an Opera mini speed dial if all you want to do is to replace an existing speed dial thumbnail with another the thumbnail of another website. In such a situation, it is better to edit the Opera mini speed dial, by replacing the URL in the address bar with the address of the new website. However if all you want is to delete an Opera mini speed dial, follow this simple steps:

  1. Move focus to the Opera mini speed dial thumbnail you want to delete
  2. Press the 1 key on your mobile phone, two menu options will appear
  3. Select the Clear option, the Opera mini speed dial will be deleted and a + sign will replace the thumbnail

Adding Opera mini speed dials

If you have some empty speed dials, use this simple steps to add thumbnails of your favourite websites to it. An Empty Opera mini speed dial has a + sign.

  1. Move focus to an empty speed dial
  2. Select Add by pressing D-pad on Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic, an address box will appear as well as a list of some websites you have visited previously
  3. To enter the URL of the website you wish to add its thumbnail, select edit by pressing D-pad on Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic and then enter the URL in the address bar, you may also select any of the other site options
  4. Select Add by pressing D-pad on Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic, Opera mini will then connect to the site and load the speed dial thumbnail

Opera mini thumbnails gives you one click access to your most favourite websites. Good candidates to add to Opera mini speed dials are your emails, social networking sites, news sites, etc.
