The Design
Sporting a round face, the Alcatel OneTouch Watch is comparable to the Moto 360 from Motorola. It features a metallic body and comes with a 1.22-inch IPS display with Oleophobic coating.
The bright and colourful screen has a resolution of 240 x 204 pixels with great viewing angles. The relatively slim watch, which weighs 60 grams, is tailored to cater to different styles and tastes with three face designs, comprising two analogue-style faces and one digital design.
You can get a unit of the Alcatel OneTouch Watch with a rubber or metal strap, which is not replaceable (not swappable).
Specifications and Compatibility
The Alcatel OneTouch Watch is not an Android Wear smart watch like some of the other ones we have already seen. It runs on its maker’s own proprietary platform which is compatible with Android and iOS devices.
The watch works with Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) or higher and iOS 7 or higher. It has a vibration motor, NFC tag and Bluetooth 4.0 as well as sensors such as accelerometer, altimeter and e-compass.
Alcatel OneTouch Watch packs a long-lasting 210mAh battery and has a built-in USB port for charging. It enables you access notifications and apps on compatible phones.
Fitness Tracker
Judging by how it is decked out, the Alcatel OneTouch Watch more specifically aims for the middle ground between smart watches and fitness tracker. In the fitness aspect, the watch syncs with an app called Move.
This app tracks all your fitness activities, keeping tabs on steps taken daily, distance covered and calories burned, amongst others. There is also a heart rate sensor.
The IP67-rated Alcatel OneTouch comes at a price of $149, which makes it more affordable than some of its rivals.
