When the Studio 21 was released sometime last year, Corel was widely lauded for empowering users with more control in the software in the area of customization, media organization, shortcut creation, workspace interface friendliness and simplicity.
Now, with the Studio 22, Corel is bringing more on board in the latest software version; high-end features typically found in advanced/pro editing software is what this version boasts of, while still retaining the user-friendly interface native to the Pinnacle family of course.
“With the latest version, we’re pushing this even further with a pro-inspired feature set that’s ideal for the video editing enthusiast who wants to do more. Pinnacle Studio Ultimate is the ideal choice for anyone striving to create projects that replicate the polish and creativity of professional productions,”
said Pinnacle’s Senior Director of Product Management, Michel Yavercovski.
In simpler terms, the Pinnacle Studio 22 can be safely said to be “Studio 21 + more high-end features.”
Pinnacle Studio 22: New features
The new Pinnacle Studio flagship version comes with about 6 new features lacking on the previous versions.
Addendum: Newly introduced features of the Studio 22 are model-specific (more on this later in the article).
1. Three and Four-Point Editing
The new ‘Three and Four-Point Editing’ feature of the Pinnacle Studio 22 will increase the precision at which users insert clips, mark on & out points, and identify insertion positions on their timeline.
As resourceful and invaluable as this feature is, only users of Plus and Ultimate version of the Studio 22 will have access to it.
2. Improved Color Grading
The Studio 22, according to Pinnacle, puts users “in the driver’s seat when it comes to setting the ambience, creating a sun-kissed scenario or an ice blue landscape”.
The Pinnacle Studio 22 comes with new colour grading options like LUT, color wheels, waveform scope, color correction etc. for improved creativity.
3. MultiCam Capture / Multi-Camera Editing
Pinnacle now allows creatives to produce videos without much stress with the MultiCam Capture feature. Users, particularly those who make tutorial videos can now —simultaneously— capture display video, system audio, and microphone sound all at the single click of a button and edit them together seamlessly.
The Multi-Camera Editing is available on models of the Pinnacle Studio 22.
4. Motion Tracking
Available on Plus and Ultimate models of the Studio 22, the new Motion tracking feature can now effectively enact focus on selected individual(s) or objects in a video by marking them either with moving text or graphics.
5. Split Screen with Keyframe
The Studio 22 will now allow you spice up your split videos by adding motion to them while simultaneously showing multiple video stream. Split screen with Keyframe is available in Ultimate model only.
