Design and Display
On the surface, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 looks very similar to its predecessor. However, on closer observation you will see some refinements. You still get a 6.7-inch foldable display, but the bezels are now slimmer for a more premium look.
The 6.7-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 1080 x 2640 pixels resolution features similar adaptive refresh rate as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with refresh rate ranging from as low as 1Hz to up to 120Hz depending on your current view.
The adaptive refresh rate promises improved battery performance by using just about the right refresh rate required for the optimal viewing experience. You also get HDR10+ and up to 1200 nits brightness for a great viewing experience.
The front of the Samsung phone is covered in transparent plastic to accommodate the folding. You also get armored aluminium frames with the back covered in Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. The hinge is covered in the same tough aluminium.
The smartphone is available in numerous colors including Bora Purple, Graphite, Pink Gold, Blue, Yellow, White, Navy, Khaki, and Red.
You get two rings for the two rear cameras with the 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover display, which comes handy for notifications. The cover display can also be used to take selfies with the rear cameras for a better result. It retains the same 260 x 512 pixels resolution as the Flip3. It is covered in the same Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ as the rest of the back.
IPX8 Water Resistance
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 offers IPX8 rating for water resistance. It can survive for up to 30 minutes in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water.
The tough aluminium frame and hinge as well as the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ makes the device durable.
The Cameras
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 5G features a somewhat similar camera setup as the Flip3. You get two 12 megapixels sensors on the back and a 10 megapixels sensor in the front.
The main camera though still 12 megapixels have been upgraded to let in more light for an improved low light performance. This is a wide angle lens with an 83˚ FoV and f/1.8 aperture. The camera also offers Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and dual-Pixel Phase Detection Autofocus.
The main camera is supported by a 12MP ultrawide wide-angle lens, which is exactly the same as the one provided for the 2021 Flip. You can record 4K videos. Slow Motion recording is also supported with the smartphone’s camera offering 960fps for 720p HD video recording.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 sports the same selfie camera as its predecessor. You get a 10 megapixels wide-angle camera with support for 4K ultra HD recording.

Compared to its predecessor as well as Samsung’s other 2022 flagships like the Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22 Plus, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 5G features an upgraded chipset.
