Design and Display
Built on polycarbonate material, the Pebble Time displays an ergonomic, slim and curved design. It comes in slimmer than the original Pebble at 9.5 millimetres, compared to the other watch’s thickness of 11.5 millimetres.
Pebble Time is also given a more premium touch with its marine grade stainless steel bezel with PVD coating. The smartwatch sports an e-paper colour display, which is always on. The durable 2.5D Gorilla Glass display features LED backlight and delivers clear view even on a very sunny day.
Timeline and Buttons
Pebble Time puts the past, present and future right at your fingertips with its new interface called Timeline. This interface is developed on the idea of time. Press the up button to see present events; press it a second time to see information on past events.
Press the down button to have an idea of future events. Essentially, Timeline allows you access information such as calendar events, notifications (missed calls, email alerts etc), breaking news and live sport scores, without needing to launch an app.
But if you would rather use an app, the centre button allows you access the list of all installed apps.
Miscellaneous Information
The Pebble Time works with iPhones and Android smartphones. It comes with fitness and sleep tracking capability to enable you achieve your fitness goals and stay in good health. You have access to more than 8000 useful apps on the Pebble app store.
The device’s 22mm silicon watchband can be easily swapped out for customised options and you can use personalised watch faces as well.
The battery life of the Pebble Time is impressive at up to seven days. The watch is not water-shy, being water resistant up to a depth of 30 metres. It features built-in microphones and can be used as a remote control for your music players.
Pricing and availability
Pebble Time costs $199. It is not yet available in Nigeria and we currently have no data on pricing and availability for Nigeria. When available, Pebble Time Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N40,000 to N60,000 at launch.
