The newly-announced Huawei GX8 is a variant of the Huawei G8 that was unveiled in the second half of 2015. It shares virtually the same specifications as the other smartphone, but appears to be headed to the American market instead.
Design and Display
The mid-range smartphone offers the sort of build quality that is increasingly becoming the minimum standard these days. It features an all-aluminium body with nicely rounded edges. The Huawei GX8 no doubt looks attractive with its sleek finish.
You will find a fingerprint sensor on the rear, just as you have it on the G8, for extra security. It packs a massive 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels which looks like one to deliver brilliant viewing.
Camera and Storage
On the camera front, Huawei GX8 appears ready to deliver impressive images with the pair of snappers provided. It has a 13-megapixel camera on the rear, with this complemented by a 5-megapixel snapper for selfies.
Onboard storage capacity of 16 GB should be sufficient enough to hold all of your photos and apps. But if that doesn’t do it for you, you will be able to add another 128GB storage capacity via a microSD card slot.
Power and Performance
The GX8 is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor which paces along at speeds of up to 1.5 GHz. The powerful chip is backed up by 3 GB of RAM to get things moving smoothly on the device.
Somewhat disappointingly, Huawei GX8 still runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system several months after the release of the latest 6.0 Marshmallow, but then this is only a midrange smartphone.
The OS will be overlaid with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 3.1 skin. The device will be equipped with a 3,000mAh battery which, unfortunately, you will not be able to replace.

Huawei GX8 is not yet available in Nigeria. When available, you can buy it at leading online stores in the country. Huawei GX8 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N80,000 to N110,000 depending on your location in Nigeria.
