Oppo A1x is the lower version of the Oppo A1 released by the Chinese smartphone maker OPPO in March 2023. It is a mid-range device that offers basic features at an affordable price point. The Oppo A1x has a 6.56 inches display with 720 x 1612 pixels resolution. This affordable smartphone is also equipped with an octa-core Mediatek processor with 5000 mAh battery and a dual rear camera consisting of 13 MP primary, 2MP macro lens and 8MP selfie shooter.

Design and Display

The Oppo A1x has a simple and functional design just like most mid-range smartphones. It has a plastic body with a glossy finish that provides a good grip. This Oppo device is slim with light weight measuring 163.8 x 75.1 x 8 mm in dimension.

At the front, there is the 6.56-inch FHD+ display that spread across the panel measuring 84.0% screen-to-body ratio. This display has a waterdrop notch at the top for the front-facing camera with a relatively slim bezels around the screen which completes the appealing look.

Additionally, this display has an aspect ratio of 20:9. It also has a high refresh rate of 90Hz, which means that the screen refreshes 90 times per second, resulting in smoother animations and transitions. The screen has a pixel density of approximately 269 pixels per inch (PPI) with peak brightness of 600 nits.

The back of Oppo A1x is made of plastic with a camera module located at the top left corner of the phone. The module houses a dual-camera setup, and LED flash. There is also the Oppo logo on the rear panel.

For functionality, Oppo A1x has the power button that also serves as the fingerprint sensor, and volume rocker on the right, while the left side has the SIM/MicroSD slot. The bottom of the device has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro-USB port, speaker and a primary microphone.

Camera

Oppo A1x comes with a dual camera setup on the back, which includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor, and 2-megapixel depth lens. The primary camera has a large f/2.2 aperture and is capable of capturing high-quality photos with good detail and color accuracy.

In addition, the main camera also features PDAF which uses specialized sensors on the camera’s image sensor to detect the phase differences in light waves and calculate the distance to the subject. This allows the camera to adjust the focus quickly and accurately, resulting in sharp and clear images. The depth camera lens however allows for closer shots.

The Oppo A1x also has a 8-megapixel front-facing camera which can be considered to be a relatively low resolution by today’s standards. However, it is still capable of capturing decent-quality selfies with good color accuracy and detail in well-lit conditions.

Hardware and Software

The Oppo A1x is equipped with the powerful Mediatek Dimensity 700 processor for optimized performance and efficient battery life. This octa-core processor, also available in models like the Oppo A78 5G, the Umidigi f3 Pro 5G, and the  comprises two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It is also accompanied by an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked at 1GHz for superior gaming and graphics-intensive tasks.

Additionally, the android smartphone supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and 5G for connectivity. It also offers up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that can be expanded via micro SD card.

Furthermore, the Oppo A1x runs on ColorOS 12.1, Oppo’s custom Android skin based on Android 12, providing improved performance optimizations for an enhanced user experience. Above all, this device is powered by a Li-Po 5000 mAh, non-removable battery with a 10Watt in-box charge for extended battery life.
