Samsung Galaxy M53 is the successor of the Galaxy M52. You get a similar display as the 2021 series, but with noticeable upgrades in the camera, processor, and software. Samsung Galaxy M53 sports a 6.7-inch display, a 108MP quad rear camera, and a 5000 mAh battery.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy M53 comes in a plastic body with the front covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5. An infinity-O cutout is provided for the front camera. With the camera count increasing from three to four compared to its predecessor, the placement has been changed from vertically aligned to a square placement similar to the Galaxy M33 and Galaxy M22. It features an ultra-slim design measuring just 7.4mm thick and is available in Green, Blue, and Brown.

The Samsung Galaxy M53 sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1080 x 1408 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. This is just about the same screen the predecessor.

Despite coming with an OLED screen, the fingerprint sensor is on the side and not under the screen. This is the same situation in the M52.

Camera

The camera is perhaps the major improvement we are seeing here. Rear camera count has been increased from three to four with the addition of a depth sensor. The main camera in the mix has also been boosted from 64MP to 108MP.

The camera combination looks bit similar to the Galaxy A73 5G, although they are arranged differently. A 108 megapixels wide-angle primary camera features an f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 123-degree FOV, a 2 megapixel depth lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens are all included. An LED flash accompanies the camera, which can record 4K UHD videos in addition to slow-motion HD footage

Samsung Galaxy M53 runs Android 12 with One UI 4.1 on a MediaTek MT6877 Dimensity 900 (6 nm) Octa-core chipset operating at up to 2.4 GHz. The chipset runs on a dual-cluster architecture consisting of a dual-core Cortex A78 and a hexa-core Cortex A55 processors clocked as 2.4GHz and 2.0GHz respectively.
