Umidigi G2 Specs, Price, and Best Deals

UMIDIGI has announced the global launch of its latest smartphones UMIDIGI G2 alongside the UMIDIGI C2. The smartphones has identical features including it’s large 6.52-inch IPS LCD water notch display with HD pixel resolution of 720 x 1600 pixel, dual 13MP, 2MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. This cheap android phone is based on the Mediatek Helio A22 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. There is also a 5150 mAh battery to power the phone.

Design and Display

Although, UMIDIGI G2 sports similar features with the UMIDIGI C2, they differ in terms of their design. At first glance, they might be mistaken for each other because of the structure and colour but the body built separate them from each other.

The UMIDIGI G2 has a flat design with sharp edges, while the C2 has curved edges. It is slim and light-weight measuring 164mm in height, 75.89mm width, 8.75mm and 192g in weight. This design has a matte finish that makes it comfortable in hand and easy to grip.

On the front, the UMIDIGI G2 has a 6.52-inch screen occupying a larger part of the front panel, leaving only slim bezel around the screen. The display has 1600 x 720 pixel resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. At the top of the display is a water-drop  notch inside the bezel to host the dual front facing camera.

The rear panel is made of matte finish, hence it is fingerprint smudges resistance. The back has a dual-camera setup at the top left corner, which protrudes slightly from the body. The rectangular shaped camera module holds the dual camera lenses and a LED flash. Furthermore, at the bottom left side of the phone there is UMIDIGI branding placed vertically at the edge.

For functionality, this UMIDIGI phone has on the right side of the phone side, a power button located above the volume rocker. At the left side of the android phone, there is the SIM slot The top of the phone has a headphone jack and a secondary microphone, while the bottom of the phone has a USB Type-C port, a mic and a speaker grille.

Camera

UMIDIGI G2 has the same camera as the C2, it features a dual camera setup, this consist of 13MP primary camera and 2MP depth camera.

The 13MP primary camera is equipped with a Sony IMX135 sensor, which is a popular sensor used in many smartphone cameras. This sensor has an f/2.2 aperture, and it is capable of capturing images with a resolution of up to 4160 x 3120 pixels.

The 2MP depth camera is designed to capture depth information and is typically used in conjunction with the primary camera to create a blurred background effect, also known as bokeh.

Additionally, the cameras are accompanied by an LED flash and support features like autofocus, digital zoom, face detection, and HDR mode. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The camera performance of the Umidigi G2 is decent, but it may not be as good as some of the high-end smartphones in the market. However, it should be sufficient for most users who are looking for a budget-friendly smartphone with good camera capabilities.

Hardware and Software

The Umidigi G2 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio A22 processor, which is a quad-core chip that can clock up to 2.0GHz. It also has a graphic processor in the form of an IMG PowerVR GE8300 GPU. This is the same processor we saw in the Poco C50 and the Tecno Pop 7 Pro.

The device has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. The extended RAM feature enables you add up to 2GB of virtual RAM to bring your effective RAM capacity to 5GB.
