Umidigi Bison GT2 Pro

Design and Display

Umidigi Bison GT2 Pro is built for tough environments. Its industrial rubber finish with reinforced corners as well as airtight and watertight build ensures the smartphone can take beyond the limits of most phones.

It comes with IP68, IP69K, and military toughness in MIL-STD-810G certification making it able to survive falls of up to 1.8 meters and up to 30 minutes in up to 1.5 meters of water.

Umidigi Bison GT2 Pro features a 6.5-inch display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio, great for watching movies and browsing the web. The display also supports 90Hz refresh rate and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate making it great for gaming.

You get two customizable buttons that you can assign actions to such that a single click, double click, or long press of the button will activate the action like access an app or function like take turn-on the flashlight.

The Cameras

Umidigi Bison GT2 Pro features a triple camera setup consisting of a 64 megapixels wide angle lens with an aperture of f/1.8, a 5 megapixels macro camera, and an 8 megapixels ultrawide camera with a 117° field of view and f/2.2 aperture.

In the front, you get an AI enhanced 24 megapixels camera with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies and for Face Unlock.

The rear camera Panorama shots, face recognition, and HDR and has dual-LED flash. Both Cameras can record full HD videos as well as improvement in low-light and night photography.

Hardware and Software

Umidigi Bison GT2 Pro is one of the first smartphone from Umidigi to run on Android 12 out of the box. It is powered by Mediatek Helio G95 (12nm) Octa-Core chipset with a dual-cluster architecture consisting of a dual-core Cortex-A76 processor clocked at 2.05GHz and hexa-core Cortex-A55 clocked at 2.0GHz.

We also saw the Helio G95 in the Infinix Zero X, the Infinix Note 11 Pro, and the Tecno Camon 18 Premier.

This android phone should offer a decent gaming performance with an 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.1 built-in storage. It has a hybrid slot that supports up to 512GB memory card. It gets juice from a 6150 mAh battery.

The Umidigi phone is equipped with useful tools like high precision Bosch Almeter and Barometer, Compass, Pedometer, Magnifier, Plumb bob, Protractor, Noise Test, Gradienter, etc.


This Umidigi Bison smartphone has a built-in FM antenna. As a result you can listen to FM radio without having to plug in an earphone to the headphone jack. You still get a 3.5mm headphone jack though, as well as a USB Type-C port, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.0.

It supports 4G LTE with dual 4G VoLTE and dual-Wi-Fi. This model do not support 5G. If you want 5G connectivity consider the Umidigi Bison GT2 5G and Bison GT2 Pro 5G.

Umidigi Bison GT2 Pro price starts around $279.99 at leading online stores like AliExpress. The Bison GT2 Pro costs about 68,900 Naira in Nigeria, 690 GHC in Ghana and 14,500 KSH in Kenya.

The smartphone is currently available for purchase on leading retail stores like AliExpress and Jumia. It was launched in December, 2021.
